For example: #1: “잘 지냈어요?” and “어떻게 지내세요?” are not always direct equivalents of “How are you?” in Korean. “잘 지냈어요?” is closer to “How have you been?” and is usually used when you haven’t seen someone for a while. Korean people don’t typically use “How are you?” as a casual greeting in the same way English speakers do. #2: In Korean culture, the word “친구” usually refers to someone who is the same age as you. You can of course be close to people who are older or younger, but the way you address them and describe the relationship is different. It’s an interesting cultural difference! I’m between intermediate and advanced in English but native Korean speaker so I can talk with you in Korean if you want to improve your Korean conversation skills. I like to watch K-dramas, movies and league of legends. Sometimes I do run, go to gym, play ping pong and volleyball. Recently, I started to read NY times for 20 mins three to five times a week. Hi there! I`m eager to discover this world, especially new peoples, cultures, countries and so on. As to say about me, I am studying nanotechnologies in Russia in PhD (In Russian it spells like Аспирантура) and work on my own projects. I was studying at Hungary in the same direction and now I am advanced on English, but, frankly, I want to develop it further like a native. I am curious to learn other languages also.
