Hi, my name is Joel Bean- I am an English/German (and on occasion Spanish) teacher and former musician from the USA, currently living in Warsaw. I am extremely passionate about languages/culture and how it can help us to develop a much wider understanding of every aspect of life and help to build meaningful relationships with other people. With this in mind, my goal is to be able to take in the culture, language, and perspective of others with an open and curious mind, and to also be able to teach and share my own culture, language, and experience through history, music, philosophy, and other disciplines. I want to be able to foster a sense of "cultural counterpoint"; that is, the ability to see the same basic object via several lenses at once, something which can be a direct outcome of the language learning process. If this sounds good to anybody, and you would like to become a friend, please don't hesitate to reach out- I would especially be happy to meet anybody in person! I really love Steve Kaufmann and his respective methods in particular, and I would love to find others who share a similar enthusiasm for languages and in particular enjoy the process of learning. There are also several other polyglots/language enthusiasts whom I enjoy and I will be happy to name as well :) My German is at a C2 level, my Spanish is just right below, my Portuguese somewhere just under that, and my Ukrainian and Polish are somewhere in the middle (chcę zdać egzamin języka polskiego na poziomie B2 w ciągu najbliższych trzech lat) Met het Nederlands ben ik nog en beginner, maar ik find deze taal eekt leuk (i gemakkelijk) ook ik will een dag uit Polen naar Nederland verhuizen :) I would, in any case, like to refine all of the aforementioned languages to an extremely high level (with the goal of at some point being able to pass an advanced exam for all of those ) Cheers!

Hey! What's up? I'm Yicheng Zheng, a Chinese guy born in Spain (and I also grew up there). I'm currently 15 years and I live in Spain, so we could say that's my native language (my level of Spanish is as good my spanish friends). I learned Chinese before Spanish, when I was like 2 or 3 years old, so my level of Chinese is good and fluent. Regarding my English, well, I don't know, it's for me a foreign language, but interactions through Social Media and watching YouTube has helped me reach a decent level (I'm taking C1 exam this year 2025). Right now, I'm looking for a language exchange partner that can help me out in German, because that's the language I'm learning (because I want to study in Germany). If you ask me what I like to do in my free time, you will not get your average person's response. I'm a pianist (and not to be arrogant, but quite good), so I practise 2/3 hours daily. I'm also a great fan of reading (the last book I read was The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoievski and Jane Eyre by Brontë). I enjoy learning as much as I can about science and math (I'm taking Multivariable Calculus, Physics 2, Quantum Mechanics by professor Susskind, among others). Last but not least, I absolutely love going out for a bicycle ride in the mountains near Madrid, or hiking with my family.
