Description
Hello,
I do a lot of creative projects in my free time. I have written and self-published a book, I have created and mass produced a card game, I am a musician, and at one time I practiced the martial arts several hours a day. Language fascinates me and I have always dreamed of being a polyglot, but I couldn't decide on which languages to learn.
I will be retiring soon and I intend to travel to many countries in Asia, Eastern Europe and a few other destinations. I would like to have as many interesting conversations with people that speak Japanese, Croatian, Russian or any Eastern European language.
I have very unique plans for creating a positive impact in very simple but powerful ways, and I believe becoming fluent in 5-6 languages, will help me accomplish that and fulfill a life long dream. Ultimately I would like to be able to speak 7-9 languages, and I believe I can achieve this using a language method I created for an English Academy that I taught English ESL courses to professionals in Tampico Mexico for around 5 years.
I am fluent in Spanish, and I understand bits and pieces of most romantic languages, as I have a decent understanding of Latin. I would like to begin with Japanese, and have conversations with Japanese people specifically because I very much look forward to visiting Japan, and perhaps starting a business there. I have always admired the Japanese and other Asian cultures and have a reasonable knowledge of some parts of Japanese history, primarily around the feudal era. I have studied Aikido and Kung Fu extensively, but my health not what it was, and I would like to make that a focus of my trip as well, so any healthful suggestions would be welcomed.
I am easy to talk to and have a wide range of experiences in life and specifically in language and communication as a hole that I believe would be worth your time, in exchange of culture, language and knowledge.
I hope to hear from many of you, and I thank you for your time and interest.
Henry
