Hi. My name's Ritik. I'm originally a Konkani Indian, now living in Dubai, UAE - though I don't speak a word of Arabic! My heritage language (language I can understand fully but can't really express myself in) is the GSB dialect of Konkani, which only a few hundred thousand people speak - most of the Konkani Indians live in North America, Dubai, or the UK!
I'm not religious, 16 years old, and I like to listen to music and play the electric guitar in my spare time.
I learn languages because language is the very basis for human interaction and I feel like limiting yourself to the Anglosphere is a really mundane way to go about life.
I want to learn Spanish because Latinos keep coming up to me and speaking Spanish and think I can understand it. In all seriousness, I studied the language for a good while in school and I feel like the best way to go from the point I currently am is to just talk to others to drive home the grammar and vocabulary.
I'd like to learn Japanese too, as the language has always interested me, as has the difficult grammar in comparison to Mandarin; and I am more serious about taking it as a language than fetishizing it like a weeaboo would (I don't watch anime) so don't get the wrong idea about my interest in it.
